Transitioning into District 2020, the Expo 2020 Dubai site will live long after EXPO 2020 DUBAI closes its doors at the end of March 2022. This sustainable, human-centric smart city will reuse at least 80% of the Expo-built infrastructure, including LEED Gold and Platinum-certified buildings. As an integrated mixed-use community, it will carry on and fulfil Expo’s founding vision to be an ecosystem to connect, create and innovate.
District 2020 will evolve from Expo 2020 Dubai as a human-centric future city centered on the needs of its urban community. It will provide a curated innovation-driven business ecosystem that brings together global minds and embraces technology and digital innovation to support industry growth. Following the six months of the World Expo, District 2020 will re-purpose 80% of the Expo’s build environment into an integrated mixed-use community that will continue to attract businesses and people to work, live, visit and enjoy. District 2020 had been designed to support the future of working and living, and facilitate connection and collaboration. It will be home to an inclusive and diverse community seeking a more balanced way of life – a place that prioritizes well-being, inspires new ideas, facilitates growth and enables human potential.
We are more than excited and thrilled with having Ms. Tala Al Ansari, the Director and Head of Innovation and Scale2Dubai at EXPO 2020 DUBAI to hit DSRPTD2021 stage demonstrating EXPO 2020 DUBAI's legacy; DISTRICT2020 and how businesses, SMEs, startups and entrepreneurs can get involved.
Tala worked with the International Participants team at Expo 2020. More than 200 participants and millions of visitors will come during this 6 month mega-event. In this team, Tala was responsible for securing the participation of 13 strategic countries from Europe and Asia, as well as several International Organizations, NGOs and Academia. She also forged partnerships for Expo 2020’s programming around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the global development agenda.
In her early career, Tala did financial audit with KPMG and led the initiation of a group-wide Innovation Unit and Change Management Programme at Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) which was considered as a ‘Model Scheme’ by global accreditors. Tala has been recognised as one of a few Expo 2020 Mission leaders by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy.
She is one of the UAE’s first Nation Chief Design Officers, a certified trainer in creative lateral thinking, and an accredited change practitioner. She has a masters in International Business and HR alongside a bachelors in Business Finance.
